Sled City is happy to announce that our old 64 Harley Pan Head “Pit Bike” has been accepted into the 2014 Easyriders Grand National Invitational Finals along with our graphics designers,( Kase Donaldson) 2013 peoples choice award winning custom built chopper. A little history on the pan goes like this: bought in 1975 and rode that year as what we call now as a “Rat Bike”. It had vise grip foot pegs and various other items bootlegged onto the bike. I put a lot of comfortable miles on it and it was tore down , painted and a fortune of chrome done on the bike. In the spring of 1976 it began a new purpose and that was transportation on the local social scene going to hill climbs, drag races, parties, etc. Early in 1984 it was redone again with a custom paint job by Jerry Blinn and entered into it’s first indoor show and again in 1985 into the same ISCA show where it won first place in it’s class at both events. Then again it went onto the social scene with trips to the Daytona Bike weeks with the wife on the back. Paint job was getting kinda ragged and it was time for a slight face lift again in 2000 and I took the bike to a couple of racer friends that had a shop, Scott & Louie, and they did some tank , fender, and strut mods to the bike and John Schwank put his custom touch to the finish work on the tank and fender. Then in 2009 it got another paint job of “Hot Rod” black and just recently striped and lettered by “The Thin Man”.
Hope to see you all at the 2014 Easyriders Grand National Invitational Bike Show here in Columbus, Ohio on Feb.8th & 9th, and look for a new gallery on this site pertaining to this event .

Animal Mike Warren went through a class of 64 entries with consistant 10.0 time slips to win the Geezer class which was open to only drivers of 50 years and older. There were some well seasoned (9-10 and 11 second drivers gunning for Animal Mike, but with the consistant time slips, he couldnt be beat. Hats off to Mike for a quick win after his major leg surgery in Febuary.
We also took the Ray Christian 68 Hemi Cuda out for display at the starting line ceramonies for the KilKare Hall Of Famers inductions. Ray Christian was brought into the Hall Of Fame and his best friend, Ron Farmer , accepted the award.
All in all , this was a fantastic event full of rat rods, customs, nostalgia super stock racers of all brands, dragsters, altereds and plenty of Gassers . $20 bucks to race , and $10 to spectate, and the place was packed everywhere. KilKare put on a great show for their 50th Anniv. celebration.
