Get out all your vintage Danger Brothers Rock and Roll Racing Team t-shirts, because it’s time to bring out The Danger Brothers 68 Hemi Cuda. Some of those shirts date back to when the team was formed back in 1985. The Cuda has new paint, new tires, new motor should get us out to have some fun with the Hemi guys. Last time out for this car was in 2001 as ESPN was still filming the Chrysler Classics when Jeff Johnson owned the series of races. I feel that it is only fitting that the car makes it first race out in 10 years at Jeff Johnson’s ” Chrysler Challenge in Larue, Ohio at Marion County International Raceway, July 22-23, 2011. We will also be bringing the wheel standing 67 Hemi Belvedere of “Animal” Mike Warren, and a variety of hood scoops, bumpers and other parts that will fit your 62-68 Dodge and Plymouth super Stock style car. See you there. Larry

March 22nd, 2011
Jim Layton, General Manager of National Trail Raceway, has given the honors of breaking in the new concrete starting line to “The Spring Nostalgia Nationals”. 160 foot of track was being removed as of 3/22/11 and will be replaced by 3/25/11, with a 2 week curing process. This should be a real plus for the event that is growing beyond expectations.
Look for the crew from “car kulture DeLuxe” to be at the event taking pictures and doing a feature story on the event too! Of course they will be cruising the pits and the show area looking for feature cars for their future magazine pages. If you haven’t read one of the issues, then you should. It’s full of nostalgia race cars, customs, motor cycles, and of course race & show events. Check it out !

Something new is in the works for the Spring Nostalgia Nationals. It’s the Commercial Vendors Race where the Commercial Vendors get to pick two cars from the pits to sponsor. Everytime the sponsored car comes to the starting line , the Commercial Vendor sponsor will get a free mention over the P-A system. There will also be a special “Commercial Vendors Race” held after the gamblers race on Saturday night for all of the “Sponsored ” cars. The participants will pay $20 to enter and the race will be 1/8th mile for door slammers, rail jobs, box, no box anything goes type of a race. Winner gets to share 80% of the jackpot with their sponsor 50/50.
We have had nothing but praise about our new show from all the people that we have met at the swap meets that we have been handing out flyers at. The printing shop can’t believe all the flyers that I am going through. See you there. Larry

There will be a mixed make swap meet and for $75 you get any size space you need.
There will be a mixed make car show on Saturday and on Sunday the car show will be “100% Mopar”. We will have overnight camping for the participants and security will be provided.
We have plenty of trophies to hand out and a bunch of money too! There will be a long distance award , a largest club attendance award and quite a few awards to make the show different and interesting.
There is a lot of Mopars out there that were purpose built to run the all Mopar events and have never run against or beat a Ford, Chevy, Buick, Olds, Pontiac, or even an Edsel. Now is their chance to race against the other brands and have fun doing it. The race director is Boyd Peck who has plenty of background on how to run a race.
Both sides of the flyer and the rules will be posted on this site by 1/20/2011.
Hope to see everyone out at the track for this event. Look me up and say hi. Larry

Animal Mike Warren went through a class of 64 entries with consistant 10.0 time slips to win the Geezer class which was open to only drivers of 50 years and older. There were some well seasoned (9-10 and 11 second drivers gunning for Animal Mike, but with the consistant time slips, he couldnt be beat. Hats off to Mike for a quick win after his major leg surgery in Febuary.
We also took the Ray Christian 68 Hemi Cuda out for display at the starting line ceramonies for the KilKare Hall Of Famers inductions. Ray Christian was brought into the Hall Of Fame and his best friend, Ron Farmer , accepted the award.
All in all , this was a fantastic event full of rat rods, customs, nostalgia super stock racers of all brands, dragsters, altereds and plenty of Gassers . $20 bucks to race , and $10 to spectate, and the place was packed everywhere. KilKare put on a great show for their 50th Anniv. celebration.
